Duplex Penthouse

A home for a family of musicians, designed around the principles of rhythm, flow, and harmony, ideas that informed both the spatial organization and the architectural details.

The central staircase serves as a structural anchor and a connecting axis between the two floors. The layout was completely reconfigured around it, creating a natural flow between the public and private areas and adapting the spaces to the family’s daily life.

A custom-designed timber screen separates the living room from the staircase. Its repeating lines create a subtle rhythm while combining spatial separation, storage, and media, allowing light and air to pass through.

The upper floor was reconfigured to accommodate bedrooms and a home office, creating private spaces tailored to each family member. Given the need for acoustic control, the rooms incorporate acoustic walls and custom details developed in collaboration with an acoustic consultant.

The result is a home with a clear spatial organization and a refined material language, balancing openness and privacy, functionality and personal character.
