Private House in a Moshav
Interior design and planning for a spacious private villa on a rural estate in Moshav Bnaya, extending entirely across a single, exceptionally large floor. The scale and horizontal layout of the house presented a unique planning challenge: creating a home that feels generous and open while maintaining a sense of intimacy, comfort, and a natural connection between its different areas.
The design was based on establishing a clear hierarchy between the various zones of the home, the public areas, private quarters, family spaces, and service areasת while creating a continuous relationship between them. Rather than relying on long, undefined corridors, the layout uses views, openings, partitions, and transitional spaces to create a natural flow while preserving a strong sense of spaciousness.
The single-level layout allows for a direct and accessible connection between the interior and the surrounding grounds. Accordingly, the placement of windows and openings became a central element of the design, bringing in natural light, framing views outward, and creating a sense of continuity between the interior spaces, the garden, and the surrounding landscape.
In the planning of a particularly large home, scale and proportion are as important as the size of the spaces themselves. Each area was carefully proportioned according to its function and character, while maintaining a consistent architectural and interior design language throughout the house.
The interior design combines natural, restrained materials, bespoke carpentry, carefully planned lighting, and integrated storage solutions. Together, these elements maintain a clean and quiet aesthetic despite the scale of the house, creating a personal, comfortable, and cohesive living environment.
The project demonstrates both the challenges and possibilities of designing a large private villa on a rural estate: creating a generous and expansive home without compromising intimacy, functionality, or quality of life. The result is a contemporary country home that treats the estate and its surroundings as an integral part of the living experience.
