Private House
An urban villa spanning four floors, designed for a couple and their three children who returned to Israel after many years in the United States. Having lived in a home with a heavy, traditional American character, they wanted to create an Israeli home that felt light, contemporary and connected to its new surroundings and way of life.
The house underwent a comprehensive renovation, including a complete reconfiguration of all four floors, replacement of all infrastructure, a new garden and planting scheme, and custom cabinetry throughout. The design language is defined by clean lines, a calm color palette, and an extensive use of Israeli-made materials and locally designed pieces.
Each room was individually tailored to the character and needs of its occupants, from the layout and electrical planning to the selection of artwork and objects. New, slim aluminum frames replaced the existing openings, reinforcing the home’s clean and contemporary aesthetic.
One of the main challenges was the relatively low ceiling height. To maintain a sense of spaciousness, the air-conditioning systems were concealed within the custom cabinetry, openings were designed with generous proportions, and a light, restrained palette was introduced. Together with a series of carefully considered planning solutions, these interventions create a home that feels open, airy and more spacious than its actual dimensions.
